23 Wow or Fun Christian Quotes and Blog Award

23 Wow or Fun Christian Quotes and Blog AwardSome quotes make us say wow or laugh out loud.

I love quotable lines from others bringing a smile to my face or causing a belly laugh. Or, words stirring a deep sense of awe.

Last week, I attended the Blue Ridge Mountains Christian Writers Conference in Black Mountain, NC. It was my fourth time to attend.

And it didn’t disappoint. The directors, Edie Melson and DiAnn Mills, put together an amazing agenda.

Five days viewing God’s beautiful landscape, networking with other writers, and worshiping Jesus together. Also, making new friends while seeing old friends (like Denise, a friend since childhood, pictured left).

I spent time discussing my current book project with my agent who also attended and met with other industry professionals.

Yet, one of the conference highlights always includes wonderful keynotes, workshops, and classes. A notebook filled with pages of content confirms the Lord used the time to speak to my heart. Still, not just messages about writing, but points applicable to other areas in life.

So, I wanted to share my favorite quotes with you. I organized them by faculty member/speaker. For their complete bios, I provide a link at the end of this post.

Quotes that make us smile, laugh, or say wow.

Yvonne says:

Loved all the quotes. I love “lots of nuts in God’s fruitcake.” Good laugh to start my day.

Karen says:

Yes, Yvonne! Funny stuff! Appreciate you laughing along with me today. 🙂

Becky Smith says:

One of the funniest quotes I’ve heard was from a very elderly man who had no clue why the entire congregation was laughing over what he said. Wow quotes: “When life isn’t the way you like, like it the way it is.” (Be content in all circumstances.) “What you fear the most, reveals what you value the most, and where you trust God the least.”

Fun post, Karen!

Karen says:

That’s so funny, Becky! Made me smile. And love the last wow quote also. Lord, help us trust you the most. Amen!

I enjoy quotes that make me smile or make me laugh. 🙂 Thanks for listing these quotes.

Karen says:

Me too, Melissa. And I laughed out loud at this one, “There’s a lot of nuts in the Lord’s fruitcake.” 😉 Ha ha! Thanks for commenting.

Congratulations on your award! How exciting and rewarding! Also, I love this quote: “Just because God keeps a door closed, it may not mean He doesn’t want you to try and open it.” Very convicting!

Karen says:

Thank you, Emily. I love that quote too. Because we’ve only heard that when God closes a door, He opens another one. Yet, this puts a whole new spin on the idea, and shows how we often are called to participate in the process.

Mike Friday says:

Great post!

Karen says:

Thanks, sweetie. So glad you were there to catch a few hours here and there at the coffee shop and come to the awards ceremony. I appreciate your support so much!

Annie Rim says:

Love this one: “A great batter looks for the right pitch, not just any pitch.” I needed this reminder today! 🙂

Karen says:

Annie, thanks, I love that one too. The speaker elaborated with how not-so-good batters will swing at everything. As writers and believers we can’t be distracted from our callings and we must look for the “right” pitch. 🙂

Melodie Haas says:

First of all congrats on winning! That’s amazing!

Second, my favorite quote was they’re being two different thermostats in heaven!! LOLOL.

Melodie

Karen says:

I know, Melodie. I had to tell my husband that one right away. We have a constant battle in the thermostat war at home, in the car, and on trips. Ha ha! And thank you for your kind words.

Hi Karen!

Congratulation! You deserve it. My favourite quote, if I have to pick one, which is difficult since they’re all excellent would be number 14 about trusting God.

God bless!
Edna Davidsen

Karen says:

Thank you, Edna. And I love that trust quote as well. Sometimes we can be good pretenders, but that’s not real trust. Appreciate you commenting. Blessings!

Julie Dibble says:

Karen, what a wonderful job of recording you did. My favorite from this comprehensive list were Eva’s about being drawn so close to His throne you can see the Pledge and 16, apart from salvation, our greatest gift is choice. For me, sometimes choice is overwhelming. When I focus on Him in prayer, He helps:) may He continue to bless the work of your hands✍

Karen says:

Oh, I love both of those as well, Julie! And even though “choice” is overwhelming at times, it’s also wonderful. The choice to serve God or not. To love Him with our whole heart or not. To go to heaven or not…is our choice. It’s mind-boggling. Thanks so much!

Heather Hart says:

How fun! And congratulations!

Karen says:

Heather, thank you and appreciate you stopping by to respond. 🙂

I love quotes too! Missed being at the conference this year. Perhaps I’ll see you at a later one. Thanks for the encouragement. God bless!

Karen says:

Wish you could have attended, Nancy. It was great. Glad you enjoyed the quotes. 🙂

Sydell says:

I love them all so refreshing to read! I think my favorite is “When we get into a wrestling match with God, He wins and we walk away with a limp.”
I have learned to choose to trust God and not fight with Him! He already knows the plans and He is the master so I rather obey and not walk with a limp.
Thank you for sharing these!
Blessings sweet friend ❤️

Karen says:

That’s good and true, Sydell. Wresting matches with the Creator of the universe never come out in our favor. May we trust the master’s plan. 🙂 Thanks for sharing.

Congratulations on your award, Karen! Thanks for sharing all these quotes. Here’s my favorite: “It takes ten years to become an overnight success.” So true! Sharing this post on Twitter and Pinterest.

Karen says:

Thanks, Sarah. I like that quote too. Only a tiny percentage of people (if any) are in the true overnight success category when it really happens “overnight.” But we trust in God’s timing. And thanks for sharing!

These are great quotes! And it looks like you had a really great time. I haven’t been to a writers’ conference in so long – you’ve inspired me to go soon! Congratulations on the award! What an honor!

Karen says:

Thank you, Melinda. And writers conferences are so good to network and meet people in the industry. Plus I learn so much…always staying a student and learning the craft.

These are great quotes Karen. My favorite was at the beginning (although there were so many wonderful ones)…”Sometimes a giant wins the battle but never the war.”

I just have to keep in mind, that God will ALWAYS win the war.

Karen says:

Yes, that is a powerful line, Brittany. God always, always, always wins the war! Hallelujah! I’m staying parked there for a while. 🙂 Thank you!

Joanne Viola says:

Congratulations on the award! And thank you for sharing each of these quotes as they all are great!

Karen says:

I appreciate your kind words, Joanne. Glad you enjoyed the quotes! Blessings!

I LOVE a deep or fun quote! Visiting you today from the faith on fire link up. laurensparks.net

Karen says:

We’re kindred spirits, Lauren. Thanks for visiting and commenting.

Maree Dee says:

Love the quotes. Congratulations on the award your received. You have a beautiful blog.

Karen says:

Maree Dee, thank you. Love lines that make me laugh or reflect. Appreciate you commenting.

Lisa notes says:

Congratulations on the award, Karen! That’s exciting and the conference sounds so encouraging. I love good quotes too. This one in particular stands out to me: “God’s greatest gift to you other than salvation is choice.” Thanks for compiling these for us!

Karen says:

You’re welcome, Lisa. Thank you! That quote is one of my favorite’s from the conference. Appreciate you stopping by. Blessings!

Kristi Ann says:

Love Always, YSIC \o/
