5 Things Only a Loving Creator Would Do

5 Things Only a Loving Creator Would Do

The age-old question still exists. How can a loving Creator allow evil and suffering?

In other words, if God is real and if He is good and loving, how and why do bad things happen in the world and to me?

Perhaps before we knew the Lord, we also thought or wondered about these same sentiments.

But God is a loving Creator. And He never intended for the fall of man. Because the fall brought sin, evil, pain, and suffering into the world (Genesis 3).

Yet, He still designed a plan to not only lead His people, but to also bring people into fellowship with Him.

Yes, the age-old question will continue to be asked in a world that denies God’s existence and deity. And a culture that refuses to bow to His majesty, glory, righteousness, and justice.

So let’s look at 5 things only a loving Creator would do.

(1.) Only a loving Creator would create me in His image.

Out of great love, God created humans in His own image.

“So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.” Genesis 1:27 (ESV)

“For you formed my inward parts, you knitted me together in my mother’s womb.I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well.” Psalm 139:13-14 (ESV)

God didn’t have to create me or you, but He chose to. He wanted to. And He took great pleasure in forming us into His image to reflect His glory.

(2.) Pursue me.

“For thus says the Lord God: Behold, I, I myself will search for my sheep and will seek them out.” Ezekiel 34:11 (ESV)

Also, as the Good Shepherd, the Lord describes Himself as leaving the 99 sheep to pursue and find the one lost sheep. (Luke 15:4-7)

Just imagine a God with such extravagant love that He never, ever stops pursuing us. He continually seeks us out, even with others safely in His fold. He leaves the 99 for us every time.

(3.) Only a loving Creator would die for me.

Our God, in His lovingkindness, left the splendor of heaven and became flesh. Jesus Christ, the incarnation of God, never lost an ounce of His deity.  And He came to die for me and for you.

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.” John 3:16-17 (ESV)

(4.) Long for relationship with me.

“Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me.” Revelation 3:20 (ESV)

It’s mindblowing that God longs for intimate relationship with us. He desires to spend time with us, converse with us, and walk with us every day. For this is the only way any relationship grows stronger in intimacy.

Revelation 3:20 represents a call to open our heart to the Lord as Savior. Further, it encourages us in a daily communion with our heavenly Father through prayer, worship, listening prayer, God’s Word, and basking in His glorioius presence.

(5.) Only a loving Creator would give me a purpose.

Not only are we created on purpose, but we are created for a purpose.

“I cry out to God Most High, to God who fulfills his purpose for me.” Psalm  57:2 (ESV)

Nothing and no one can thwart God’s plans and purposes, including His purpose for me and you.

Not only are we created on purpose, but we are created for a purpose. Nothing and no one can thwart God’s plans and purposes, including His purpose for me and you. Share on X

Back to our age-old question. We have limited understanding as humans and we won’t understand the “hows” or “whys” in this world.

But we know this: God is on His throne and reigns in heaven and over the earth. As a loving Creator, He will one day restore all of creation to its former beauty, including us as His created beings. We will be made new and God will right every wrong with His righteous judgement. And we will be with our loving Creator for all of eternity.

“And he who was seated on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” Also he said, ‘Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.’” Revelation 21:5 (ESV)

God created us to live for Him and to seek Him every day. He is a loving Father who created us to love Him and others as we go through this life. We never have to feel alone or abandoned if we invite Jesus into our hearts. Blessings, Karen!

He loves us. We are His. What a joy and comfort to know God loves us with a love that is too big for us to understand. Thank You Lord. Have a blessed day! 🙂

Yes, it is, Melissa. Just imagine a God with such extravagant love that He never, ever stops pursuing us. He continually seeks us out, even with others safely in His fold. He leaves the 99 for us every time.
