A God Who Sees and Cares
Have you ever felt unseen? What about lonely? Maybe you’ve wondered if anyone cares and struggled with life meaning. All these emotions hit us hard and often with people all around us. But rest assured God sees and cares.
So this is for you.
The woman who feels invisible.
A mom surrounded by loneliness.
The woman who wonders if anyone cares.
The man struggling with life meaning.
This is for anyone touched by hopelessness and souls caught in the pit of despair.
And for the lost who don’t believe they can be found.
To everyone who questions God’s existence or love.
Or, if you ever wonder:
Is God there? Does He know? Does He see? And does He care?
Have you ever felt unseen? Maybe you've wondered if anyone cares, even whether God cares. Rest assured God sees and cares. Share on XGod Sees and Cares
We find a story of the God who sees and cares in Genesis 16. Childless, Sarai (later called Sarah) devises a plan for her servant Hagar to conceive her husband’s child. Hagar obliges, but Sarai regrets her scheme and deals harshly with Hagar.
So Hagar flees the scene. Alone in the wilderness, she encounters an angel of the Lord who tells her how she will bear a son, her offspring will be multiplied, and to return and submit to her mistress.
Within this narrative, Hagar recognized a powerful truth about God. He’s a God who sees and cares.
“So she called the name of the Lord who spoke to her, ‘You are a God of seeing,’ for she said, ‘Truly here I have seen him who looks after me.’” Genesis 16:13 (ESV, emphasis added)
Also, He’s the God who looks after you and me. Because He always sees us in the wildnerness.
God Supports
“For the eyes of the Lord move to and fro throughout the earth that He may strongly support those whose heart is completely His. 2 Chronicles 16:9a (NASB, 1995)
This verse is special to me because it’s been my life verse since college.
God’s eyesight is omnipresent. To and fro references a constant movement—backward and forward, side to side.
There’s no place to escape God’s sight. He found Hagar in her wilderness and He finds us in our wilderness. Because we all find ourselves in the wildnerness at times.
And the Lord’s eyes set their sights on a mission to support us. He undergirds us in all of life’s plans, schemes, and ordeals. Our support comes from the eyes and heart of the Almighty. Especially in those instances when we flee the scene because the ordeal is too much to handle.
Waiting on God Who Sees and Cares
Alone in the wilderness, Hagar saw the God who looked after her. He’s the God who cares for us when we lose our way and think no one cares. The Lord always knows where we came from and where we’re going. (See Genesis 16:8.)
God sees and cares for us when we lose our way and feel all alone. Share on XLike Sarai, when I grow weary waiting on God, I’m tempted to devise my own plan or scheme. So I take matters into my own hands more than I care to admit. But will I ever learn? Important life decisions belong in the hands of a higher power.
God’s eyes search with specific intent to support those with hearts completely His. Belonging wholly to the Holy One.
God cares for us and wants our hearts to be completely His. He wants to devise our life’s plans. The heavenly Father desires that we submit to His will, expect Him to be there in our lonely places, give Him authority to reign supreme, and find our hope in Christ alone.
Is God there? Does He know? Does He see? And does He care? Yes, Yes, Yes, and Yes. Share on XThis is For You
You’re never unseen or alone. God sees and cares.
You’re cared for and have meaning in life. And you can be found by the hope-giver.

Amen to this! I KNOW God sees me. He has a plan for me… and it’s all part of His great big plan (which I don’t need to understand). I never walk alone.
True, Jessica, we never walk alone in this life. Thanks for commenting.
I can recount many times in my life when God saw me and cared even before I knew what was happening. One instance stands out: Where I almost died, as did my son, when I was trying to give birth. God saw and cared in that moment even before I was a professed Christian; the experience led me to surrender my life to Him. Talk about a turning point!
Blessings, Karen!
Oh Martha, I didn’t know that particular story about your son’s birth. What a powerful testimont to God seeing us and caring for us. Thanks for sharing it.
I’ve always loved that scripture in 2 Chronicles, also. I feel like jumping up and down waving my hands and saying “Pick me, Pick me!” But instead I will work on showing my heart is completely His.
I also love Hagar’s story. In a lot of ways, she was used, but God still noticed her situation.
Those are good thoughts, Jerralea. I also love to think about how one day God will right every wrong.
Feeling unseen can be annoying and heartbreaking. I am thankful God always sees us. 🙂
Agree, Melissa. Feeling invisible is a hard pill to swallow.
Looking back on my life, even before I knew Christ, He knew and loved me. In the worst of those moments, I can see His divine presence. I felt it but couldn’t understand what it was. There was that thought deep inside that through all the hurt, pain, anguish, and anger, I was going to be alright. We can’t always see it while we’re going through that painful portion of our journey, but we just feel it’s there inside us. Of course, when I suffer things in this life today, it’s much easier to turn inward where He resides. The trip to healing is much faster when we don’t have so far to travel. God’s blessings ma’am. Sure hope I’m blessed to meet you at #BRMCWC.
All good words you shared, J.D. “For the eyes of the Lord move to and fro throughout the earth that He may strongly support those whose heart is completely His. 2 Chronicles 16:9a (NASB, 1995) Sorry to say I won’t be attending this year again, been 3-4 years since I’ve been back. Maybe some day. Hope your conference experience is great and blessed!
Certainly can relate to your message today. But I’ve learned that I am never alone and God is always with me. And He is enough
True, Yvonne. Is God there? Does He know? Does He see? And does He care? Yes, Yes, Yes, and Yes.
Now I am like a person who is digging in a hole and looking for water. But in this hole, I always felt the limit closely and like that clumsy fox, God always sees me. I thank God every morning for the food, home and the job I have. I am more sure than ever that God sees me and guides me. Maybe my pit is similar to the desert of Moses. I am sure that one day water will be found in this pit, even if it takes forty years
God bless.
I love studying the names and attributes of God. They are a wonderful way to learn about Him and His care of us. Hagar’s name for God is one of my favorites.
One of my favorites too, Ashley. So comforting to know He’s the God who sees me. Thanks for commenting.
