Did You Know Hope Has a Name? Jesus
Do you remember the first time you heard the name, Jesus?
While I’m not sure of my exact age, I know I was a child. And when I turned sixteen, Jesus became my salvation, my Savior.
But living the Christian life in this world isn’t easy. Followers of Christ need strength from the Lord, direction, and we need to grow as a believer.
Also, we need hope.
The world offers many forms of hope. Yet, they fizzle and fade away. But, God made big plans to bring Hope to a hopeless people. Hope’s birth took place in a lowly stable. Hope grew and carried out the heavenly Father’s will—even death on a cross.
Hallelujah! Hopeless never gets the last word. Hope rose from the dead when Jesus Christ conquered the grave.
True hope is only found in Jesus Christ. Hope has a name. Jesus.
True hope is only found in Jesus Christ. Hope has a name. Jesus. Share on XLet’s look at 4 ways we have hope in Jesus alone.
H – Hope has a name. Jesus.
Jesus came to die for me and for you—for our salvation and the salvation of all willing to embrace real Hope in the Lamb of God.
God sent Jesus from the throne room of heaven to take our place. Beaten, bruised, and pierced with nails, His blood spilled on a cross. And He bestowed forgiveness on us to cover our sins.
Jesus saves us from condemnation, wrath, ourselves, other gods, and eternal death. But salvation also brings new and abundant life with Jesus as the Savior of our souls and a spiritual way of life.
Jesus is our hope for this life and the next.

O – Overflowing with abundant Hope.
“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.” Romans 15:13 (ESV)
First, God fills us with His joy and peace, so that we abound in hope through the power of the Holy Spirit.
Abound means “exist in large numbers or amounts.” Synonyms include, “abundant.” (Google)
The verbs fill and abound illustrate the abundant life Christ promises believers. Leaving the grandeur of heaven, for our sake, Jesus became poor so that we—joint-heirs with Him—become rich. We overflow with abundant hope.
Walk forward in the Holy Spirit’s power, believing hope overflows and abounds in you, because it does.
Hope has a name. Jesus.
P – Possession of Hope. Hope has a name.
When Jesus lives in us through the Holy Spirit, He brings hope to us. It’s not just around the corner, off in the distance, or on the other side of glory.
And hope is not something we muster up in our own power.
Instead, hope’s something we possess—a gift from God. Our spiritual clothes contain deep pockets with blessings, never short-changed on peace, joy, love, grace, mercy, comfort, or hope.
We hope in Jesus. Jesus is our hope. He’s the essence of authentic hope.
Does Jesus live in you? Is your name written in the Lamb’s book of life? If you answered, yes, hope lives in you—wherever the presence of Jesus dwells.
Dear brother and sister in God’s family, cling to this: Christ in you, the hope of glory (Colossians 1:27).
Hope has a name. Jesus.
Dear brother and sister in God’s family, cling to this: Christ in you, the hope of glory (Colossians 1:27). Share on XE – Empty-Tomb Hope.
Because of an empty tomb, we possess a living hope. A resurrection hope.
God in the flesh came to earth, died a sacrificial death on the cross for the sins of all mankind. Buried in a borrowed tomb and raised to life on the third day. Then Jesus appeared to over 500 people.
“Through Christ you have come to trust in God. And you have placed your faith and hope in God because he raised Christ from the dead and gave him great glory.” 1 Peter 1:21 (NLT, emphasis added)
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.” 1 Peter 1:3 (ESV, emphasis added)
Hope has a name. Jesus. He’s our living hope.
Hope in Christ alone: Hope has a name.
Finally, we have the ability to hold fast to the confession of our hope without wavering, for God who promised is faithful (Hebrews 10:23).

Indeed. Our hope is in His mighty name my friend. When the world starts to overtake me, I sing “There’s Something About That Name” and my Jesus pushes back the darkness. Thank you for this encouraging post ma’am. You’ve made my day brighter.

Thank you, Vera. “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.” Romans 15:13 (ESV)
This is great. You’re so right that the hope this world offers is temporary. Sometimes it seems so comforting and helpful, but it’s an illusion. Our hope rests in Christ alone.
In Christ and Him alone. Because hope has a name, it’s Jesus.
I find all my hope in the name of Jesus. I loved this beautiful message Karen. So many need this kind of hope today. Thank you for sharing.
Jesus is the only true hope and trumps any false hope the world tries to offer us.
Karen, so wonderfully spoken. Thank you for this encouragement.
