God’s Not Finished With Me

God’s not finished with me.
First, God knit me together—I’m fearfully and wonderfully made. (Psalm 139:13-14) And He even knew me before I was born. (Psalm 139:16)
God drew me to Himself through the Holy Spirit at 16.
The Lord called me to use my gifts for His glory and kingdom. Because the callings and gifts of God are irrevocable, they cannot be undone. (Romans 11:29)
While all these facts bring me peace, security, and direction, I’m grateful God’s not finished with me yet.
God’s Word promises He’s still working on me, and you.
“For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.” Ephesians 2:10 (ESV)
“And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.” Philippians 1:6 (ESV)
God’s Not Finished With Me. “And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.” Philippians 1:6 (ESV) Share on XSo let’s look at an acrostic for F.I.N.I.S.H. to remind our hearts of this powerful truth.
F – Fights for me: not finished with me.
The battle always belongs to the Lord.
“The Lord will fight for you, and you have only to be silent.” Exodus 14:14 (ESV)
“No weapon that is fashioned against you shall succeed, and you shall refute every tongue that rises against you in judgment. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord and their vindication from me, declares the Lord.” Isaiah 54:17 (ESV)
“The Lord your God who goes before you will himself fight for you.” Deuteronomy 1:30 (ESV)
“What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?” Romans 8:31 (ESV)
Since the Lord fights for me, I know He’s not finished with me.
I – Invites me in.
God invites me into His salvation. The Lord invites me into relationship with Himself. He extends an invitation to follow Him. And God invites me to trust Him on this spiritual journey and in my life.
My fellowship and relationship with the Lord shows how He’s not finished with me. Instead, He’s molding me more and more into His image.
God invited me to follow Him and into relationship with Him. My spiritual journey continues because He's not finished with me. Share on XN – Navigates my path: God’s not finished with me.

The Lord navigates my life, directs my steps, and guides my spiritual path. He’s not finished with me.
“I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my eye upon you.” Psalm 32: (ESV)
“And your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, “This is the way, walk in it,” when you turn to the right or when you turn to the left.” Isaiah 30:21 (ESV)
“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” Psalm 119:105 (ESV)
I – Inhabits my praise.
God inhabits the praise of His people. (Psalm 22:3) I celebrate how God inhabits my praise. Because it not only encourages me to want to enter His presence with praise and thanksgiving, but it also grows my faith as a child of God.
It shows that God’s still making me more like Him—He’s not finished with me yet.

Nothing this world offers will ever satisfy the longing in my soul. Only God satisfies through the Holy Spirit.
“For he satisfies the longing soul, and the hungry soul he fills with good things.” Psalm 107:9 (ESV)
“If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, ‘Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.’” John 7:37b-38 (ESV)
As God continues to quench my thirst and satisfy my spiritual hunger, He is working on me and not finished with me.
H – Helps me from on High.
I don’t need self-help. I need help from God the Father, Jesus the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
“For I, the Lord your God, hold your right hand; it is I who say to you, ‘Fear not, I am the one who helps you.’” Isaiah 41:3 (ESV)
“I lift up my eyes to the hills. From where does my help come? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth.” Psalm 121:1-2 (ESV)
“Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” Hebrews 4:16 (ESV)

Notice I didn’t use the plural form of finished for our acrostic. Because God’s work continues as long as we have life and breath. He’s not finished with me yet.

I’m glad God is not finished with me. I continue to learn ways to share His love and glory. I am a work in progress. Thank you for this reminder. Have a blessed day! 🙂
So thankful that God considers me a work in progress, too, Karen. I know He’s not finished with me, either! May we seek His mercy and grace as He molds us into better models of the children He loves. Blessings always!
I’m so happy that the Lord is nit finished with me.
Until I draw my last breath here on earth, I’ll keep praising Him.
We do know and are assured that our forever home awaits us and will be perfect. We’ll have transformed bodies so will no longer suffer in our worn out bodies .
There have been many times in my life where it seemed that it was over, the curtain had closed, and the dream had died. It looked like the situation was unchangeable, that I had blown the opportunity and simply could not recover. And in fact, I knew that the problem had morphed into something far beyond my personal strength to overcome.
But God has proven to me time and again that even if we have problems that seem impossible to overcome, He is the author and finisher of our faith and nothing is impossible with Him!
We call God our Healer, and He is Deliverer, Provider, Advocate, Protector, Restorer, Redeemer, and so much more. We have a lot of titles that we ascribe to the attributes of God, but there are many times in my life when what I need more than anything is for God to be a Finisher.
“… being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” Philippians 1:6 (NIV)
By the grace of God (through Christ) Truth. So Essentially and Adeptly Real…Yes and Amen.
Amen Karen. I remind myself of this important message every time I mess up and it gives me encouragement. Thank you.
