God’s Truth: The Answer to the World’s Chaos

God's Truth: The Answer to the World's Chaos

So much of the chaos surrounding America and the world stems from the absence of truth. God is Truth and His Word is Truth.

When it comes to what the world says versus God’s Word, I’m going with God every time.

Why? Because truth is not up for debate. God’s holy Word wins hands down.

Let’s look at 4 things that make God’s Word the truth we need. Especially in the current state of our world.

(1.) God-breathed and Useful: God’s Truth

God’s Word comes from Him, the Creator, and sets the standards for how to live the Christian life.

The Bible is alive, the living Word of God.

But how do we go about living God’s Word? And how does the Bible show through in our lives?

Living Scripture in our daily lives equates to a life of no compromise. Because our goals, desires, values, morals, and decisions are affected by Scripture. Also, our relationships, lifestyle, worldview, heart, mind, and so on, stay bent toward scriptural truths.

All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.” 2 Timothy 3:16-17 (NIV, emphasis added)

Notice this verse doesn’t say some Scripture is good for you to live a pleasing life to the Lord. No, “all” Scripture, the whole counsel of God from Genesis to Revelation. And it’s breathed out (living), and profitable in living the Christian faith. Because it trains us in righteousness.

(2.) Nourishing and Sustaining

Not only do we feed our bodies to sustain life, but we must also nourish our souls. Something much deeper than feeding our stomachs to be merry and full. Nothing the world offers curbs our spiritual appetites, gives long-lasting satisfaction, or transforms our character.

God's Truth: The Answer to the World's Chaos

Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.’” Matthew 4:4 (NIV)

(3.) Living and Active: God’s Truth

God’s Word changes me at the core of who I am.

“For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.” Hebrews 4:12 (ESV)

(4.) Truth and Light

While the world grapples to define truth, the Bible remains fundamental and trustworthy, and true from Genesis to Revelation.

Jesus is the Word. And the word became flesh in Christ, full of grace and truth (John 1:1, 14). The world suggests we agree with whatever our gut tells us feels right.

Still, the world walks in darkness. But Scripture sheds light on our lives.

“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” Psalm 119:105 (ESV) The Psalm goes on to say, “The unfolding of your words gives light; it imparts understanding to the simple.” Psalm 119:130 (ESV)

Likewise, lighting our path with the Word keeps us from spiritually tripping. Through understanding, it drives away the darkness of the evil one, deception, and false beliefs.

“Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, ‘I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.’” John 8:12 (ESV)

When we follow the light of the world, Jesus, the path leads to the light of life—living the Word.

And there’s so much more about the Bible that makes it unique to other religious writings—inherent, infallible, and historical.

God's Truth: The Answer to the World's Chaos

God’s Word comes as a package deal. We either believe it in its entirety, cover to cover, or not at all.

God’s people, let’s quit limping between the world’s opinions and God’s Word! Our heart needs truth that’s only found in the Bible.

Yvonne Morgan says:

“God’s Word comes as a package deal. We either believe it in its entirety, cover to cover, or not at all.” Wow, that statement is so full of truth. I think, often, we only want to believe the parts that are pretty and not the hard ones. Thanks Karen, very important message.

Karen says:

Thank you, Yvonne. Sometimes I think we (and others) treat the Bible like a pick and choose buffet. How sad! But the Bible is also inherent, infallible, and historical.

Jessica Brodie says:

Beautifully said. There is no debating or twisting the truth. The truth, like the light, is unchanging. God is unchanging!

Karen says:

Oh, yes, Jessica! Agree! Jesus is the Word. And the word became flesh in Christ, full of grace and truth (John 1:1, 14). The world suggests we agree with whatever our gut tells us feels right.

Amen. God’s Word is truth. Thank you for this inspirational message.

Karen says:

The Bible is alive, the living Word of God. I pray it is alive in us!

J.D. Wininger says:

So well said Ms. Karen. God’s Word is truth! Period. End of discussion. This world wants to define, refine, and substitute the truth of God’s word for what they want deceived hearts and minds to believe. While our souls, saved and unsaved, know something isn’t right with what they’re seeing and hearing, they are so distracted by the temporary trappings of this world that they ignore what they know to be right. God’s absolute truth, however, is incorruptible and does not fall prey to Satan’s tricks. Let us each endeavor to stand strong upon the firm foundation of Christ and His Word.

Karen says:

J.D., I like how you said, “God’s absolute truth, however, is incorruptible and does not fall prey to Satan’s tricks.” That’s a great point. Even Jesus used God’s Word to answer Satan’s temptations in the desert. Because the world, the enemy, and the gates of hell cannot come against the Word of God–Jesus! God bless!

Robyn Jones says:

Amen, truth is not up for debate and God’s Word does win every time! I love your faithfulness. This article was a breath of fresh air! God bless you, sis. 🙏🏽💖

Karen says:

Appreciate your heart for the Lord, Robyn. May we hunger and thirst for God’s Word to nourish our souls! God bless.

Amen to this wonderful wisdom. We don’t create our own truth. We live in the reality of what God determines it to be. Thanks, Karen. God bless!

Karen says:

Yes, we do, Nancy. Jesus is the Word. And the word became flesh in Christ, full of grace and truth (John 1:1, 14). Blessings!

A thousand hallelujahs! Oh Karen, this was so powerful. It grieves my heart to see so many people lost. God’s Word is the anchor for our lives. God’s Word lights our path, nourishes our soul and leads us in His truth and righteousness.
These two lines: God’s Word comes as a package deal. We either believe it in its entirety, cover to cover, or not at all.

God’s people, let’s quit limping between the world’s opinions and God’s Word! Our heart needs truth that’s only found in the Bible.

Piercing truths! God bless you, keep on preaching His truth!

Karen says:

Thank you, Melissa. You are always so sweet, encouraging, and full of wisdom from God. I pray to know and meditate on the whole counsel of God’s Word and walk in that truth over anything else. God bless!

Oh the pain we’d spare ourselves and our country if we lived by God’s word!

Karen says:

That’s so true, Debbie. God bless.

[…] Print this list to meditate on and pray one a day over the next ten days. I’m thankful for God’s Word, last week we discussed: God’s Truth: The Answer for the World’s Chaos. […]

Joanne Viola says:

“God’s Word comes as a package deal. We either believe it in its entirety, cover to cover, or not at all.” So true, Karen. We cannot pick and choose. There are days when holding my Bible, I am floored by realizing everything God wanted to say to me lies between these two covers. Everything I need for life is found there. May we all stay faithful to His truth.

Karen says:

Agree, Joanne. I desire to mediate on and believe and share and live the whole counsel of God in His Word. God bless.
