Unbelievable: Every Spiritual Blessing in Christ

Unbelievable: Every Spiritual Blessing in Christ

Don’t miss this: there are unbelievable spiritual blessings for those of us in Christ. And these blessings are straight from heavenly places.

I’ve formed a word-habit in my online replies. I throw out the word over and over again.

Blessings! Thanks and blessings! I pray blessings over your ministry. Blessings to you and your family! God bless!

See what I mean? I quite overuse the word.

But do I realize what’s behind the well wishes? And do I give consider how unbelievable my blessings are in Christ?

Unbelievable: Vast Blessings

We’ve heard it said to count our blessings.

But if we look at the shocking amount of blessings God extends to us, they are hard to number.

Of course, we all count ourselves blessed with family and friends. Also, blessed in how God provides for our daily needs.

And who’s not giving grateful these days for the blessing of health? I pray to never take a healthy body for granted. Or, the physical well-being of my spouse, children, grandchildren, and all my loved ones.

But there are times we forget, even as Christ-followers. So we need reminding of the vast blessings from a gracious God, too numerous to even count. Unbelievalbe blessings.

Don't miss this: there are unbelievable spiritual blessings for those of us in Christ. And these blessings are straight from heavenly places. Share on X

Blessed is Our Generous God

For example, take the Apostle Paul’s letter to the Church at Ephesus. After he greets the saints who were faithful in Christ, he says this.

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us IN Christ with EVERY spiritual blessing in the heavenly places.” Ephesians 1:3 (ESV)

First, Paul calls God “blessed.” We bless Him as our Father.

Yet, I find it interesting how we bless God, then go on to state the reason is none other than the fact He has blessed us. And not only blessed, but in Christ, we’re blessed with every spiritual blessing. This is unbelievable. Think about the awe of it all.

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us IN Christ with EVERY spiritual blessing in the heavenly places. Ephesians 1:3 Share on X

If we draw out the forms of the word “bless” to summarize, here’s what it says in a nutshell.

Blessed be God, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing.

What a blessing! Seems to me we receive the grand part of this truth—God’s favor, protection, provision, and more. A truth lending itself for thanks and praise to a good and generous God. Unbelievable!

Unbelievable: Spiritual Blessings

The letter to the church at Ephesus goes on to remind us of the many spiritual blessings in chapter 1:

Unbelievable: Every Spiritual Blessing in Christ
  • Chosen by God.
  • Loved by God.
  • Adopted by the heavenly Father.
  • Riches of grace lavished on us.
  • Redeemed through Jesus’ blood.
  • Forgiven of trespasses.
  • Spiritual wisdom and revelation.
  • Insight to know God’s will.
  • Plan and purpose for our life.
  • Spiritual inheritance.
  • Hope in Christ.
  • Truth.
  • Peace.
  • Gospel of Salvation.
  • Sealed with the Holy Spirit.
  • Enlightened hearts.
  • Greatness of God’s power working in us.

Unbelievable: All Blessings Flow From Him

But Paul’s writings here aren’t exhaustive. When I reflect on “every spiritual blessing,” it reminisces of more:

  • Mercy.
  • Faith.
  • Steadfastness.
  • Prayer.
  • God’s long-suffering toward me.
  • God’s acts of providence in my life.
  • Comfort during troubled times.
  • The Lord’s voice leading me.
  • Second, third, fourth, and countless chances for messing up.
  • Spiritual discipline (not pleasant, but yields a great reward).
  • Relationship with the Creator.
  • Strength for times of waiting.
  • Healing for physical ailments and a wounded heart.
  • The privilege to minister in Jesus’ name.
  • Ability to overcome the world.
  • God’s glory seen in me and my callings.

There’s more, so much more! Oh, the indescribable gifts we are blessed with from God. A God from whom all blessings flow into our laps and lives.

Let’s truly be a people of God who calls Him, Blessed, meaning it and living it out in our daily lives.

What do you think of when you reflect on “every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places?” It’s unbelievable in a good way from a good, good Father.

When we sit down to actually count the blessings given to us by our loving Father, we couldn’t begin to number them all, Karen. Too many to tally means we are loved infinitely and should not get overwhelmed, but give thanks to Him each and every day, even for the blessings we have yet to realize.
And I know that I always “sign” my responses to comments on my posts, “Love and blessings!” I mean it!
Wonderful post here today, my friend.

Karen says:

We are kindred spirits, Martha. 🙂 I know you mean the well wishes in our loving heavenly Father. God bless, dear friend.

There is comfort found in His blessings. Have a wonderful weekend! 🙂

Karen says:

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us IN Christ with EVERY spiritual blessing in the heavenly places.” Ephesians 1:3 (ESV) God bless, Melissa!

Jessica Brodie says:

Amen to this. The blessings are overwhelming when we really sit down and think about it all! Everythign we have is from Him!

Karen says:

They are too numerous to even count, Jessica. But it sure does a soul good to try and reflect on all we can think of. God bless!

James Millary says:

I am blessed to read the spiritual statement above. Have a wonderful and blessed weekend.

Karen says:

We are blessed by a God of unending and unbelievable blessings He bestows on His children. God bless!

David says:

Father God, we praise you for the wonderful future that you have prepared for us through the death and resurrection of you Son, Jesus Christ. We eagerly await the day when we will enter into your presence for all eternity with holy bodies untainted by sin. Please help us to not lose heart when we face the many pressures, anxieties, and troubles of life in this fallen world. Let us take great courage in the knowledge that you’ve given us the Holy Spirit to prepare our souls for our kingdom dwelling with you. Thank you for letting Jesus live in us. It is in his name that we pray, Amen!

Karen says:

Beauiful prayer, David. Amen and Amen and Amen.God bless!

Oh Karen, my heart was overflowing as I read this post! Thank you for reminding us again how God has blessed us over and over! Blessings upon blessings through our Savior, Jesus Christ. It really encourages my soul to renew my mind in the truth of God’s Word and what is my identity in Christ. Powerful words of renewal and blessing!

Karen says:

I’m glad this touched your heart, Melissa. To consider all this and more should cause us to break out in praise and thankfulness to our mighty and good Father. What an awesome God we serve. God bless, dear.

J.D. Wininger says:

I am often overwhelmed when I begin to think about all the blessings that I never thank Him for, so many of them are not even known to me. What He is doing in another’s life that will one day bless me. The stars that remain in orbit, or in place as we orbit around them. The mere fact that a million different things did not kill me each day. We have so much to thank Him for, don’t we? What a powerful reminder of how He blesses us beyond what we can even imagine. God’s blessings my friend. I reckon I have that word habit too.

Karen says:

Well said, J.D. If we could only pull back a corner of what takes place on our behalf in the heavenly places, including spiritual warfare, we would be overwhelmed and rendered speechless. Praise God from whom ALL blessings flow. God bless!

Yvonne Morgan says:

So much encouragement as I read through all these blessings. They are so overwhelming and I need to spend more time thanking my Savior for them. Thank you Karen

Karen says:

Yvonne, it really does put us in awe of how the Lord blesses us with every spiritual blessing! Hallelujah!

JIM (JESUS-CHRIST IN MAN) UZUM says:

Beloved Karen in christ, greetings and thanks for edifying the saints in christ with your work: Unbelievable: Every Spiritual Blessing in Christ.

I was medidating in THE WORD, Ephesians 1:3, when the Holy Spirit opened the eyes of my understanding abruptly in “all spiritual blessings”. Immediately, i googled those and your website poped up. The rest is edifying!

Is it possible, practically, not being hypocritical, especially in our phenominal identification with the terrestial world and all its strong and age-long conditioning to live one’s daily live in Christ body knowing that we all as the bride of Christ are ALL ONE (Gal. 3:28)?

Greetings once more, from Calgary, Alberta.

Blessings!

Karen says:

Thanks for your encouraging comment. Yes, knowing Christ and living and walking in Him every day. God bless! “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us IN Christ with EVERY spiritual blessing in the heavenly places.” Ephesians 1:3 (ESV)
