Videos of Keeping Dreams Alive in Our Marriage

Videos of Keeping Dreams Alive in Our Marriage

Always keep dreams alive.

Always keep adventure alive.

In your heart.

In life.

With Christ.

And in marriage.

So…

Surprise!

I thought my adventure series with my husband was only for 2 weeks.

But I decided to share this special post and videos with you to extend it.

Let’s recap before the videos:

Post 1 featured me “Joining My Husband’s Adventurous Spirit” on a day trip to the mountains.

Part 2 highlighted camping trip “A No Boundaries Adventure With My Husband.”

Dreams Supported

Coinciding with my posts, my husband started a sermon series at Believers Church, “Helping Your Relationships Make Sense & Work Better.” The first Sunday, Mike uncovered the truth about women, speaking to the husbands. One of the best ways a husband loves his wife well is by supporting her dreams. Here’s a YouTube video he put together and showed. It’s of our trip for me to speak at a women’s retreat.

Dreams Alive

Mike’s second message for ladies and wives helped us understand a man’s heart. He featured this video of our camping trip. The one I wrote about last week to David Crockett State Park.

Always keep adventures alive and keep dreaming. In life. In marriage. And in Christ. #marriage #blog Share on X

How about you? Do you strive to keep your spouse’s adventures alive and keep dreaming?

Yvonne Morgan says:

I loved these videos Karen and the beautiful message behind them. Thanks for sharing them and encouraging us to keep our dreams alive.

Karen says:

Appreciate you stopping by to watch and comment. I’ve discovered God’s the biggest dreamer of all. 🙂 So keep dreaming.

Annie Rim says:

Love this! Just in this past year, my husband quit his job to start his own business and I started taking my writing more seriously. It’s been a lot of give-and-take and figuring out and we’re still definitely in the middle of learning. But it’s also been so incredible to see how God has been part of the process as we pursue better paths for ourselves and our family.

Karen says:

That’s awesome, Annie. Sounds like your stepping out on faith and learning how to move forward with your dreams and pursuits. I’m so thankful life’s journey is a much better adventure when we invite God along. And when we keep dreaming the dreams He has for us.

Tessa says:

This is an inspiring series of posts, as I recently had a conversation with my husband about how we needed to dream more and have more spontaneity and adventure in our lives. I find the more that we surrender to Christ the more adventures we end up experiencing. 🙂 And that is exciting. Thanks for sharing part of your journey!

Karen says:

Thanks, Tessa. And I agree with the surrender part. Surrendering to God’s adventures and dreams puts a new fire and passion for life in our hearts.

Loved the videos, Karen, and the message! Sorry I somehow missed your previous posts.
Blessings!

Karen says:

Oh, thanks so much, Martha. Glad you joined in for the videos. May we stay on adventures in life with Jesus and keep dreaming!

Bailey says:

Wow, ya’ll are so fun and I love the impact you are making a new media platform—video!

Karen says:

Thanks, Bailey. My husband is a big You-Tuber. I’m just slowly coming along. 🙂

Married for over 39 years and we are growing more in love every day. I am so proud of my husband. I love to encourage him and he loves to encourage me. What a great blessing to be able to encourage each other and have God as the center of our marriage! Thank you for showing a loving marriage. 🙂

Karen says:

That’s so wonderful, Melissa. You and your husband have such a great testimony about marriage. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

Marriage is so beautiful when both parties try to help the other achieve his and her dreams. Thanks for showing us the beauty! God bless!

Karen says:

Yes, it is, Nancy. It’s great when we mutually support and don’t get caught up in selfishly wanted “me” and my dreams supported but not keep our spouse’s dreams alive as well. Thanks for commenting.

Dear Karen!

It’s so important to do those things together that both parts enjoy. Keeping marriage alive and robust requires consciousness from both parts of the project, right? 🙂

Blessings!
Edna Davidsen

Karen says:

Yes, Edna. We must be intentional in every way, supporting dreams and adventure. Thanks for commenting and keep dreaming!

I’ve really enjoyed this series, Karen! It’s so applicable right now, as my husband and I prepare for the next stage of life. I’ve got my eyes on that little camper of yours, and I’m checking out the floor plans. The videos are great! Your husband sounds like a great husband and a wonderful pastor. I bet the ladies at that speaking engagement loved you both!

Karen says:

Thanks so much, Melinda. Continued prayers for your health and this next stage of your married life. My husband is a great pastor and supporter. I appreciate him and his heart. Blessings!

Amber says:

Great post. Love it. It’s great to be able to challenge your spouse to dream and not see it as impossible. My husband is my biggest fan, and I am his.

Karen says:

Amber, being each other’s biggest fan is so important. I cheer my husband on in ministry and his passions as he does for me. Thank you for stopping by to comment.

Sherry Riherd says:

Karen,
I love to read your articles. They always seem to lift my spirits. The only way I can support my husband right now is to be here for him, but it’s hard when I see him make decisions, regarding his health, (end stage kidney disease), that I don’t agree with but I usually end up telling him it’s his life not mine. He has to be happy in his decisions, therefore, if he’s happy I try to be happy for him. He’s a Christian so I know I’ll see him again if God decides to take him sooner than we expect. Sorry to get off the subject. Keep up the good work.
God Bless you and family.
Sherry

Karen says:

Thank you so much for your encouragement, Sherry. And you didn’t get off the subject. Glad you shared your story of how you try to support your husband, in your own way. I’ll certainly be praying for him and his health…and for those important decisions. God bless you and hugs!
