Your Life is Worth the Cross
If you were the only person on earth, Jesus would have come and died on the cross for you.
Because your life is worth the cross.
Still, it’s easy to believe things that are not true.
Like God loves others but not me.
Or it’s hard to make the cross and empty tomb personal—Jesus suffered, died, and rose from the dead all for me.
Say this quietly in your heart or out loud:
My life is worth the cross.
This is how much God loves you and me.
Yes, Christ came for the whole world, but He also came for you.
Think about that, meditate on it in your heart.
Let’s look at supporting scriptures.
(1.) Jesus loved you so much, He died for you: Worth the Cross.
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16 (ESV)
Read John 3:16 again, inserting your name in place of “world” to make it personal.
1 John 4:19 says, “We love because he first loved us” (ESV).
God created love and demonstrated love on Calvary’s cross through His Son—a show-and-tell affection.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, Thank You for loving me and Your provision of grace through Your Son. Help me to believe and know it was for me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

God sent Jesus from the throne room of heaven to take our place. Beaten, bruised, and pierced with nails, His blood spilled on a cross. And He bestowed forgiveness on us to cover our sins.
Although sin separated me and you from God, Jesus made a way to God through His blood—the gift of salvation.
“He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed.” 1 Peter 2:24 (ESV)
“But he was pierced for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with his wounds we are healed.” Isaiah 53:5 (ESV)
Prayer: Jesus, thank You for forgiving me of my sin and redeeming me. I praise Your holy and matchless name. Help me die to sin and live for righteousness. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

You no longer walk in condemnation or shame. Jesus nailed sin and condemnation to the cross.
“When you were dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins, having canceled the charge of our legal indebtedness, which stood against us and condemned us; he has taken it away, nailing it to the cross.” Colossians 2:13-14 (ESV)
“Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death.” Romans 8:1-2 (NIV)
Prayer: Lord, I’m so grateful You nailed my shame and condemnation to the cross. I need Your help to walk in freedom. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Because of an empty tomb, we possess a living hope. A resurrection hope.
God in the flesh came to earth, died a sacrificial death on the cross for the sins of all mankind. Buried in a borrowed tomb and raised to life on the third day. Then Jesus appeared to over 500 people.
“He was chosen before the creation of the world, but was revealed in these last times for your sake. Through him you believe in God, who raised him from the dead and glorified him, and so your faith and hope are in God.” 1 Peter 1:20-21 (NIV)
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.” 1 Peter 1:3 (ESV)
Prayer: God, I pray to always place my hope and trust fully in You and not in the false hopes this world offers. You’re my hope in this life and the next. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Thank you, Lord Jesus, for sacrificing Yourself for me and for all who believe!
Blessings, Karen, and thank you for reminding us always how much our God loves us.
Martha, sometimes I think our hearts need reminding of the great love of Jesus for each of us. For God so loved Martha, that he gave his only Son…. God bless, dear!
Thanks for the inspiring article. May God bless you.
God bless you!
Amen. Our hope is found in Him.
And Him alone! Praise His holy name!
He is our hope and firm foundation. I’m so glad He loved each of us enough to die on the cross. Thank you Karen.
Yes, He is! Thankful for our Lord and Savior! God bless!
Karen, every day my heart overflows as I remember that God loves me. These lines were so powerful: “Say this quietly in your heart or out loud: My life is worth the cross. This is how much God loves you and me.” Thank you for this wonderful message and for helping us remember our identity in Christ. Amazing grace how sweet the sound!
Melissa, I pray we never ever forget how the cross was for us personally. I hope we never take God’s love for granted. God bless!
[…] Your Life is Worth the Cross […]
It’s hard to wrap my head around such generous love… and it’s personal. Jesus died for ME and for all of us… for me! I’m thankful and honored.
Yes, Jessica, I think when we remember it’s personal, it reminds our hearts of the great love the cross shows us.
Karen, what stood out to me was the use of the present tense – My life is worth the Cross. Long before I even was, He saw me and He loved me. And this is what makes life worth living now in this day. He is my hope in this life and the next. Jesus – our hope.
Present tense is important to remember. Especially since God’s love is past, present, and future tense. Thanks, Joanne!
[…] Last week’s post, Your Life is Worth the Cross. […]
“Am I unworthy?” A question I ask myself perhaps more than I should. My answer is, “Yes, but He is worthy. And He loved me enough to die for me.” That alone answers the question. Loved, loved, loved this post Ms. Karen. Thank you, ma’am. God’s blessings young lady.
A thousand Hallelujahs! God bless.
